Our Favourite Local Dog Walks

Est Reading Time: 2 minutes

We’re lucky to be surrounded by scenic countryside here in Knutsford, with some fantastic dog walking spots right on our doorstep. Here are a few of our favourite places for happy paws, wagging tails, and plenty of adventures—perfect whether your dog loves a gentle stroll, a woodland scramble, or a swim!

Mobberley Conservation Area

With its mix of high and low ground, woodland, and small reservoirs, Mobberley Conservation Area has something for every four-legged explorer. It’s a popular local spot—and for good reason! Tucked away from the main road and surrounded by peaceful countryside, it offers a safe space for your dog to run, play, and splash about.

If your pup enjoys water, they’ll love the shallow pools here—ideal for cooling off on hot days without getting out of their depth. The woodland trail loops around the whole area, giving you a lovely circular route, and you can link up with more rural trails nearby for an even longer adventure.

Tatton Park

This is one of the area’s most famous walks, and it really is stunning! With breathtaking views of lakes, rolling hills, and even a stately home, both you and your dog will enjoy every step. There’s over 1,000 acres to explore, including a beautiful deer park, so there’s always something new to see.

Located in the centre of Knutsford, Tatton Park is easily reached on foot or by car, and there’s usually an ice cream van for a treat at the end—what better way to finish a great walk?

Over Peover

Just three miles from Knutsford town centre, Over Peover is a treasure trove of peaceful country walks. With its lush green fields, pretty lanes, and working farms, it’s no wonder people call it “rural Knutsford.” Peover Park is a favourite route, taking you up to the magnificent St Lawrence’s Church and Peover Hall.

In the summer, the beautifully kept gardens open to the public with courtyards, rose beds, and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy. There’s even a café nearby serving homemade cakes, coffee, and tea—a well-deserved treat after your wander.
